Dogs, like humans, are highly social animals and have the ability to form close bonds which has resulted in unique interspecies relationships. They are loyal, devoted and skilled, as companions or as trained working partners.

This site gives an overview of the dog's intelligence, social behaviour and unique relationship with humans. It also details some of the hundreds of dog breeds currently in existence, including the retriever, the hound, the spaniel, the terrier and other working dogs.
